A retired Permanent Secretary and governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Chief Sesan Fatoba, has said the state needs an experienced governor to develop its potential.
Speaking with newsmen in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday on his political ambition, Fatoba lamented that inexperienced people had always governed Ekiti since 1999.
“This time, we need someone who is elderly and who cut his teeth in the civil service because that is the engine room of any government.
“I am a grass-roots politician and I belong to the civil service. Again, I am from the South Senatorial District, so I have the best credentials to govern Ekiti.
“The late Adekunle Ajasin and Adebayo Adefarati were well over 70 when they ruled Ondo State and their records still remain the best till date in terms of industrialisation drive and infrastructural provision.”
Fatoba advised the APC to pick its candidate from the South Senatorial District, saying that Governor Ayodele Fayose had taken the lead by picking his deputy, Prof. Kolapo Olusola, from Ikere Ekiti in the southern zone as the candidate for the 2018 governorship poll. (ThePunchng)
