Ekiti 2018: Fayemi/Egbeyemi combination will enhance APC victory – Party Chieftain

Ado-Ekiti- A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress ( APC) in Ekiti State,Dr Olusegun Osinkolu has described the adoption of the former Ado Ekiti Local Government Executive,Chairman, Chief Bisi Egbeyemi as the Deputy Governorship candidate to Dr Kayode Fayemi as a strong cohesive force that will galvanise supports for the All Progressives Congress(APC) in the July 14 governorship election.

Dr.Osinkolu,a senatorial aspirant said Egbeyemi as one of the founding fathers of Alliance for Democracy which transmuted at various stages to APC , is a bridge builder and a stabilizing factor in the progressive fold.
Osinkolu commended Fayemi for making the right choice, saying the Deputy governorship candidate has paid his dues in the politics of Ekiti and commands large followership among the populace that would buoy the party’s chances in the election.
Speaking in Ado Ekiti on Friday on the right moves made by the stakeholders on the choice of Egbeyemi, Osinkolu said the party needed experienced politicians and grassroots people to be able to win the next election.

He said with Fayemi and Egbeyemi flying the party’s flag for the much awaited poll that Ekiti APC needs not rely on any federal might to defeat the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) .
Osinkolu said it would be a fatal mistake for the PDP Candidate, Prof Kolapo Olusola and his 39-year old Deputy, Deji Ogunsakin to bebinstalled in the coming election , being largely perceived as inexperienced individuals in Ekiti politics.
“Dr Fayemi has been governor in Ekiti. He served for four years before being appointed as a Minister superintending over the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development, where he served for two and half years.
“So, he is better equipped than a man who has under the shadow of his boss for the past four years.
“Chief Bisi Egbeyemi had been Commissioner in the State Ministry of Education and Ministry of Justice. He had been council boss of Ado municipal council. He has also practiced law for close to four decades in Ekiti, so he understands the terrain and we need this strong team at this point.
“If we allow Prof Olusola and Ogunsakin to be elected into these sensitive offices, it was clear that there was a game plan being contrived by somebody to be teleguiding them from behind and politics of godfatherism in a poor state like Ekiti will automatically yield no dividends for our people.
“So, I plead with Ekiti electorate to divorce themselves from unwarranted emotions and vote the right team that will deliver Ekiti from poverty, rather than those that will be tied to the apron string of an opportunist godfather,” he advised.
