Ekiti 2018: Fayose woos workers over succession

The Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has pleaded with workers in the state to elect the next governor of the state from the PDP platform in order to consolidate the achievements of his administration.

He said, “All that I am doing will be consolidated if you elect someone from our party to succeed me. If you do otherwise, they would use vendetta to spoil our good works.

“Whether they kill PDP or not does not concern us. Be assured that I am a smart boy, a street boy, I am playing my own cards against theirs.”

Speaking at the May Day rally in Ado Ekiti, the Governor noted that Lagos state was progressing very well because governors that have been ruling the state are from the same political party adding that, “when you have succession, this laudable projects will continue.”

While appreciating the workers for their patience and perseverance, Fayose promised that all arrears of workers’ salary would be paid before leaving office next year.

He said in line with government’s agreement with labour leaders, government had started deducting N10 million monthly from federal allocation into the state accounts, saying when it is N100 million “we will begin to pay the outstanding salary.” (DailyTrust)
