Ekiti Govt to Collaborate with NGOs on Healthy Enviroment

In its determination to end open defecation and ensure a clean and healthy environment in the state, the Ekiti State Government has reiterated its resolve to collaborate with interested individuals in area of public awareness

The State Commissioner for Environment, Chief Bisi Kolawole, made this known while hosting the President of the Lion International Club in Ado metropolis, Dr. Idowu Adeojo, who led a delegation on a courtesy visit to his office.

Kolawole said all contributions towards sensitising the people on the need to end open defecation was welcomed, adding that sponsorship of jingles on radio and television stations by organisations would go a long way in assisting to achieve the desired result. He stressed the importance of proper waste disposal, emphasising a need for the people to be educated and cultivate the habit of disposing their waste appropriately.

Adeojo said that his group was ready to assist the government in its efforts at maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
