A member of the seventh House of Representatives , Bamidele Faparusi , has urged the All Progressives Congress to field a candidate , who has never occupied the governorship seat , for the July 14 governorship poll to avoid protest votes.
Former governors of the state , Segun Oni and Kayode Fayemi, are in the contest for the governorship seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
Faparusi gave his advice in a statement he issued in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday
He said , “ Governor Fayose tricked Ekiti the electorate to scheme a return to the government house . He told our people that he had changed from his bad behaviour as exhibited through thuggery and violence during his first term , but he ended up reneging on all the agreements made with our people .
“ In the running of government, Fayose has crippled the civil servants . He no longer gives running grants to ministries to operate , all these culminated in the deep hatred our people have for ex – governors and the APC must not fall into such a perilous pit by working at cross purposes with the people ’ s desire , ” he warned . ”
