Fayose Charges Ekiti Politicians to Put Ekiti First

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, has urged Ekiti elders and leaders to ensure that politicians close ranks and put Ekiti interest first irrespective of their political differences.

He also said that he was ready to give quarterly account of his stewardship to Ekiti leaders and charged them to also make other public office holders do same.

In a statement in Ado-Ekiti on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Idowu Adelusi, the governor said if Ekiti people are united, they will be surprised at the high level of development their state will attain in the shortest possible time.

Governor Fayose who stated this at the weekend during this year’s Ekiti Day organised by a social-cultural group, Ekiti Parapo, Lagos, said Ekiti is endowed with quality human resources who could take it to higher height, but political bitterness and division were hindering that.

The governor who is the patron of the group, frowned at a situation where some people, for political reasons, would want to set the state on fire because they lost out in political contest.

“We cannot but appreciate Ekiti Parapo, Lagos for your vision to unite us as a people.? When we are united, we will move mountain.? The Bible says when we stay together we will achieve together.? We need to unite Ekiti regardless of politics.? Politics as it is being played in our state is peculiar.? Whoever is leading our state has time and tenure but Ekiti interest is forever.
