The Lions Club International has donated a block of two classrooms and well-equipped library to Ado Grammar School Community Primary School, Ado Ekiti, in a bid to promote educational development in public schools.

Speaking during the inaugration of the N10 million project in Ado Ekiti on Saturday, the President of the Ado Ekiti Metropolitan Lions Club, Chief Oyedeji Olajubu, lamented how some pupils were dropping out of schools due to poverty and poor condition in schools.

He said the organisation will be partnering government at all levels to increase the conditions of school buildings and make them conducive for learning and teaching.

Olajubu said: “The construction of this building was well thought out. We didn’t only build, we did the flooring with modern tiles and table and chairs for teachers and pupils. No pupil will learn under this and run away from school. Children in private schools are not better than those in public, but facilities are not the same, this is the basic fact.”

The Ekiti State Commissioner for Education, Mr Jide Egunjobi, and the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board, Senator Bode Ola, commended the club for the feat , saying this will go a long way in enhancing the education of the children in that school.
