(MUST READ) Another 3 Women Kidnapped In Ekiti
Three unidentified women were reportedly kidnapped in Ekiti State on Friday afternoon by unknown gun men.
A report aired on the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) Progress 95.5 FM said the women were kidnapped with their husbands and unspecified number of children along Igbole-Igbosin road while travelling in a private car on their way to Ibadan, Oyo state. It was gathered that their captors later dropped the men and their children on the way.
The captors, however, drove the women away in their car and also snatched another vehicle to unknown destination. The report said the husbands and their children wailed profusely until some sympathisers came to their aid.
No fewer than five people, including a Chief Medical Director of Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Dr Patrick Adegun and a senior nurse at the Federal Teaching Hospital Ido Ekiti, Mrs Margaret Aladenika and a lecturer in Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, had been kidnapped in the last two weeks in the state.
The families of the victims are yet to establish contacts with their captors. Meanwhile, Governor Ayo Fayose, has petitioned the Inspector General of Police, Mr Solomon Arase, calling for his intervention to stem the spate of kidnappings in the state.
