Stop self-medication;go for medical check-up, were the words of Mrs Feyisetan as she went on another round of health tour in the state.
A call has been made to parents to always take their children to hospitals for medical check-up instead of toying with their health by engaging in self-medication which is dangerous to their well being.
This call was made by the wife of Ekiti State governor, Mrs Feyisetan Fayose at Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti today while on another round of tour of health facilities and payment of hospital bills of indigent patients across the state.
The wife of the governor who did not condemn the use of herbs advises parents to always go to hospital for better diagnoses and treatments, to guide against typhoid fever and other dangerous ailments.
Mrs Fayose in her words said “I want to plead with parents, especially mothers, please don’t let us toy with the health of our children especially on malaria issues. The best thing to do is to bring those children into the hospital to access medical treatment.”
The wife of the governor also advised parents to consider the use of mosquito nets as important as “malaria is so deadly and can lead to so many things” she said.
Earlier today, Mrs Feyisetan had also visited the Ekiti State Specialist Hospital, Ikere Ekiti where she presented receipts to patients whose medical bills had been settled.
Payment of bills of indigent patients has been taking place since the inception of Governor Ayo Fayose’s administration, as part of efforts in making life better for Ekiti people. The wife of the governor also assured that the program shall continue.
This round of tour focused on children and took the wife of the governor to Specialist Hospital at Ijero on Wednesday this week, specialist hospital and teaching hospital in Ikere and Ado Ekiti respectively today, where close to eighty children benefited from program.
