Southwest PDP wants Ondo Govt. out of Ekiti polls

THE South West Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP weekend decried what it termed as the interloping activities of the Ondo State government in the Ekiti elections and its determination to prosecute criminal actions towards rigging the election.

It also asked President Muhammadu Buhari not to “succumb to the desires of his party to use the Army, Police and other agencies as extensions of his party’s efforts in the election.

The Zonal Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Ayo Fadaka said this in a statement issued to newsmen in Akure.
Fadaka said “We take due cognizance of the interloping activities of the Ondo State Government in the Ekiti elections and its determination to prosecute criminal actions towards rigging the election.

“The Akeredolu administration has descended fully into the fray to the extent that the State-owned media has been unleashing abuses and disinformation about the Ekiti State Government, this is unethical.

“We, therefore, ask the Ondo State Government to concentrate on discharging its allocated responsibilities to the people of Ondo State, a function it continues to discharge most abysmally.
According to him “This Saturday the people of Ekiti State will be going to the polls to discharge the sacred responsibility of electing their governor, this is an inalienable right that must not be coerced or tampered with by any authority.
