Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, on Thursday expressed his readiness to support whoever emerges the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the July 14, governorship election in the state.
The governor assured that a transparent and credible primary would be conducted by the party among the aspirants which included his Deputy, Prof Kolapo Olusola, former Minister of Works, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, Mrs Biodun Olujimi among others aspirants on the platform of the PDP.
Fayose who assured all the contestants that he would ensure level-playing ground in the primary, however, hinted that nothing would make him waver on his support for his Deputy to succeed him in the July 14 poll.
Speaking during the celebration of this year’s edition of the World’s Women Day, held at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado Ekiti, the governor had urged Ekiti women to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to make his continuity agenda realizable.
While noting that women’s supports for his administration have led to the sustenance of his government, the governor promised that he would continue to effect policies that would better their lives and future.
He said, “In the spirit of understanding we had with Senator David Mark-led reconciliation committee, knowing that we have more than one aspirant, I will ensure a level-playing ground.”
